GLOBETROTTING IN EAST LAIKIPIA, KENYA
This is a 35,000 acre property situated in the East Laikipia district of Kenya, north of the equator with views to Mount Kenya. The property has a range of landscapes to explore from rolling plains dotted with whistling thorn acacias with oodles of plains game to deep valleys and high mountain ranges that carry mystique and awesome vistas. The eight-cottage lodge becomes very hard to leave when its time to go riding, nestled on a mountain slope it camouflages seamlessly into its surroundings with its swamp grass roofs and rendered earth walls. The lodge overlooks a dam that regularly plays host to elephant pool parties.
This six-star African lodge has a range of horses from home bred to ex-polo ponies that didn’t cut the mustard on the field who become exceptional safari horses and a handful of ex-racehorses and ex-equestrian horses. A favourite breed are the Somali cross ponies that are energetic, quick off the mark and alert, these horses are for riders that appreciate a pocket rocket ride – so to speak. The stable has a range of horses to suit a variety of abilities.

Accepted payment is by credit card only. There is a 2% surcharge on all credit card payments. Since you’ll be paying in a foreign currency, in this case USD, we believe paying via credit card is the most cost effective and easiest option for you.
Why is the price quoted in US dollars?
With our overseas riding destinations (rides other than in Australia), the currency is dictated by our partner in that country. Therefore due to fluctuating exchange rates we have to quote in the same currency.
We recommend guests arrive in Nairobi at least two days before the ride begins for one full day of sight-seeing in Nairobi. Guests will need to catch a mid-morning flight into Lewa on day one of your ride, then depart mid-morning on your final day. Please note, regional flights have a luggage weight allowance of 15kg maximum.
