Our County Clare (say that in your best Irish accent!) ride in Ireland is going to blow your clover-leaf socks off. We may not be able to promise sighting red-bearded Leprechauns with pots of gold – but we’ll go close. For six-days, astride your Irish Tinker horse we’ll trit-trot and lope through Ireland’s most natural, rugged, dramatic and unruly landscapes. We’ll toe-tap to folk music in cosy pubs, rub shoulders with fourth-generation farmers, gawk at mythical Celtic ring forts, listen wide-eyed to historical stories and lie belly-up in emerald green pastures while our mount munches beside us. With our hosts and guides, Nicola and Bertie Cummins, at the helm, every day brings new adventures as we ride east to west, our end point – the Cliffs of Moher – Ireland’s most significant tourist attraction.

Let’s quickly chat about Miss County Clare, who sits in Western Ireland, she’s a pretty picture of rolling, pea-green knolls to craggy, Atlantic coastline. For the first four days we’ll be roaming the quintessential Irish landscape that globetrotting dreams are made of: skirting ancient stone walls with paddocks full of fluffy sheep, sleeves of emerald green fields and vast lakes (which are known as Lough’s). The last half of our trip, we move accommodation and explore The Burren. Think: rocky moon-scapes, Stone Age monuments and ancient churches. We’ll feel as if we’re entering a forgotten world where 70% of Ireland’s flora and fauna calls home. After 150 kilometres of riding, we’ll find ourselves teetering at the edge of the world – the Cliffs of Moher. A natural wonder that will leave you breathless in awe. It’s here at this significant landmark that we have our final wind-swept canter skirting along the rugged cliffs. A fitting end to the perfect Irish riding adventure – to be sure, to be sure.

Why is the price quoted in European Euro?

With our overseas riding destinations (rides other than in Australia), the currency is dictated by our partner in that country. Therefore due to fluctuating exchange rates we have to quote in the same currency.

Pick ups from Shannon Airport are available at 9am, 2pm and 5pm on day 1 of the itinerary. A driver will meet you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it (you MUST inform us of your flight details prior to departure). The drive to the start of the ride in Whitegate is approximately 1.5 hours. Pick up from Shannon Airport is €35 per person.

Please note, for guests who have chosen to hire a car and drive to the ride location, you will be able to leave the car at the equestrian centre in Whitegate for the duration of the ride. On the final evening of the itinerary, instead of staying in Lisdoonvarna, you will instead be transported back to the riding centre and will stay in the guesthouse there for the evening. This way you will be in the same location as your car when it’s time to depart after breakfast on the final day.
