The Kimberley RideGo Back
GLOBETROTTING THE KIMBERLEY, AUSTRALIA
The Kimberley ride was first launched in 2016 where the three departure dates SOLD OUT in less than 48 hours, it was the same scenario for the 2017 season. I’ll give you the heads up now, if you see availability on the departure dates listed below it’s a small MIRACLE (count your lucky stars) and you should be securing your saddle seat here A-SAP.
In partnership with Christian and Laura Hayes from Hidden Trails we have masterminded the ultimate seven day, six night riding itinerary (six days riding) that will leave you completely spellbound by the beauty and spirit of this pristine landscape. Guests start their Kimberley riding adventure at the breathtaking Emma Gorge, before riding deep into the Cockburn Range towards the Caroline Valley.
Just imagine riding through undiscovered valleys with sandy river beds (perfect for trotting and cantering), that are quintessential Kimberley lush and tropical. We’re talking monolithic Boab trees and pandanus juxtaposed by blood-red gorges, and secluded, croc-free swimming holes, billabongs and thermal pools waiting to be baptised in.
You will spend the first five nights camping underneath a canopy of stars, snug in a swag. Your guide, Christian Hayes, who has cut his teeth in the Kimberley bull catching and breaking in horses, will lead you through this ancient, mysterious land. He’ll share a myriad of stories from the ‘white fella’ history to dreamtime and sample bush tucker that you’ll pass along the way. Both Christian and Laura are THE masters at setting up a bush camp. Trust us, this husband and wife duo has an astute eye for picking brilliant camp locations beside serene billabongs that are croc free and swimming safe.
There will be PLENTY of blissful moments where you’ll be able to dig your heels into your sparky, station horse, kick up some red dust and canter along well-worn cattle pads and river flats. Your final night will be spent at the iconic El Questro Station in their beautifully appointed, riverside bungalows.
