Apple Isle - Horse Riding Holidays and Safaris

Apple Isle

In the spotlight

This time next week, I’ll be in a complete spin packing for our mini-break to the Apple Isle, (for my foreign friends, I mean – Tasmania). I’ve never visited our southern state and I simply can’t wait to explore a new part of our sunburnt country. Steven, Miss Finn and I are heading south to road test a new five day ride. I’m super excited about the potential of this new Tasmanian riding destination and the proposed itinerary has the perfect balance of riding, change of scenery and not to mention local gourmet food.

As much as my foreign riding destinations are popular I find that Australian horse back riders love to explore their own backyard on horseback. It’s always a struggle to find top-notch rides in Australia that cater for intermediate to experienced riders that aren’t pony led rides at a market or nose to tail plods along a beach. I’m confident that this ride will live up to globetrotting expectations and we’ll be able to launch it at Equitana at the end of November.

This flick of Tasmania, has me chomping at the bit to ride, taste, feel, smell and absorb this very special state. Have you been to Tasmania? Do you have any suggestions as to where to visit, eat, play and stay?
