The Kimberley Ride was first launched in 2016, when the three departure dates SOLD OUT in less than 48 hours. It was the same scenario for the 2017 season AND the 2018 season. I’ll give you the heads up now: if you see availability on the departure dates listed below, it’s a small MIRACLE (count your lucky stars!) and you should be securing your saddle seat A-SAP.

In partnership with Christian and Laura Hayes (you’ll know them from our sell-out Craig’s Hut & High Country Ride), we have masterminded the ultimate six-day, five-night riding itinerary (five days’ riding) that will leave you completely spellbound by the beauty and spirit of this pristine landscape. Get ready to unearth El Questro Station’s wilderness!

Guests start their Kimberley riding adventure on the border of Doon Doon Station and El Questro Station before riding deep into the Cockburn Range towards the Caroline Valley.

Just imagine riding through undiscovered valleys with sandy river beds (perfect for trotting and cantering) and quintessential lush and tropical Kimberley flora. We’re talking monolithic Boab trees and pandanus juxtaposed against blood-red gorges, and secluded swimming holes, billabongs and thermal pools waiting for you to baptise yourself in their cool waters.

Your guide, Christian Hayes, who has cut his teeth in the Kimberley bull catching and breaking in horses, will lead you through this ancient, mysterious land. He’ll share a myriad of stories from the ‘white fella’ history to the dreamtime, and help you sample the bush tucker that you’ll pass along the way.

You will spend the first four nights camping underneath a canopy of stars, snug in a swag. Both Christian and Laura are THE masters at setting up a bush camp. Trust us, this husband and wife have an astute eye for picking brilliant camp locations beside serene billabongs that are croc-free and safe for swimming.

There will be PLENTY of blissful moments where you’ll be able to dig your heels into your sparky station horse, kick up some red dust and canter along well-worn cattle pads and river flats. Your final night will be spent at the iconic El Questro Station in their beautifully appointed, riverside bungalows.

If you’ve always wanted to explore the ancient lands of the Kimberley, sign up for this ride.

"Back to reality from one of the best weeks of my life! The Kimberley ride was rugged, beautiful and a fantastic experience that will not be easily forgotten. Great horses, company, food and of course....sunsets. The first of what I hope will be many globetrotter experiences."
