I have just returned from the Kimberly Ride and I’m missing it all so much. It was my sixth trip with Laura and Christian – they are consistently 100% fantastic. I rode Noss, who has the smoothest canter, and is bold but quiet and well mannered. Just tall enough to get me through deep river crossings without getting wet. The ride was divided into 2 groups each day. There was a slower group for those with less experience or who just wanted to take it easy, and the other group was for those who were up for some long canters when safe to do so.
The scenery was beautiful and our guides were so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, and the history of the land. The staff are incredibly loyal, and if there are changes from time to time, the new staff are just as lovely, and the experience is always tops.
The food is first class. I am a vegetarian and a tea lover, and a fussy eater, and everything pleases me!
Sleeping under the sky in swags on camp beds with mozzie nets was so much fun, and easy to set up. The shower always had hot water and was very flash for a bush shower. Most days we had safe, clear swimming holes to hang out in. We had a didgeridoo player one night, and a guitarist and singer another night. Having a dog at camp was like the icing on the cake for us – the total Aussie experience.
Just do it!
