‘If you’re on the fence about booking the River Valley Ride, jump off the fence and book your saddle seat ASAP! I’ve done four Globetrotting rides, and this one now tops the chart as my favourite. From incredible hosts, well-trained and steady horses, epic scenery, and mouthwatering food, this ride is not one to miss. Every day, we rode the rolling, sheep-dotted hills and trotted and cantered to our heart’s content. We raced up airstrips and splashed across rivers, admiring the dramatic rainbow cliffs and waterfalls. I rode Clifford, who was the perfect horse for me; he was alert, steady, responsive, had plenty of up and go, and best of all, he took care of me. We built a connection and trust. Eight days is the perfect length for this ride, and the rafting on the final day was a blast. It was very special to stay at the Marae and be spoiled by the lovely Māori ladies with their generous feast. 100/10, would come again!’
