‘I met Shazam at the beginning of the ride,
I wondered how he would go by my side.
The moment I looked into his black deep eyes,
I knew he was my kind.
My trusted steed he became,
Carrying me safely along the way.
Across ancient landscapes, along scarps and roads
We walked, and trotted and cantered, full of joy and no thoughts.
Each day was unique, with the sun our constant friend,
We endured the long days in the heat to the end.
When the last day came, and I had to say goodbye,
I thanked Shazam with a tear in my eye.
Forever will I hold this beautiful horse in my heart
And be grateful to have met him, even though we are now apart.’
