Don’t Leave Home Without… Travel Packing Cubes
If you want to take the stress out of packing for your globetrotting adventure, making sure nothing is forgotten and that you can always find what you need when you need it, I’ve got a hot tip for you – use TRAVEL PACKING CUBES! Yep, a trusty globetrotter has recently brought these nifty little critters to our attention and we’re in LOVE with them.
For those among us who love an organised bag and being able to find things when you want them (hands up, that’s me!) then travel packing cubes are perfect to help you divide and organise everything you’re taking with you. You can have one for your riding pants and trousers, another for your shirts, another for your underwear and socks…get the idea? You can fit a lot more into your bag too. These also come in handy when you’re on one of our rides where you move to a different location each night and you have to unpack and repack on a regular basis. You can easily grab each cube out and put them back into your bag one by one, it’s as easy as that. No more exploding luggage strewn around your tent!
Oh, and let’s not forget the best ways to pack with these cubes. Firstly roll, don’t fold your clothing. Yep, believe it or not, rolling is the best way to save space and you’ll be able to fit more outfits. And this is where your packing cube comes in handy because it ensures your clothes remain rolled up, exactly where they need to be. Secondly, separate your items into categories. I’m sure we’ve all done the whole ‘throw-everything-you-can-find-from-your-wardrobe-into-your-suitcase-and-zip-it-up-as-quickly-as-possible-before-it-has-a-chance-to-object’ pack at least once in your life, but that’s when you end up with socks tucked into corners, toiletries mixed with shirts and underwear stuffed into shoes making it nearly impossible to find what you need quickly. So when using your packing cubes, itemise them – one for shirts, one for pants etc. You could even get really tricky and get different coloured cubes so all you need to remember is which colour has your socks in it when you’re rummaging around with your torch late at night.
So yep, I think you could say we love this idea and I KNOW you will too. Packing cubes can be a lifesaver for both the regular and infrequent traveller. They come in different sizes and colours, and they are quite cheap. Yep, you can find them at places like Target or online at Zoomlite or if you want the best there is Kathmandu has them as well. Best travel investment ever!
Does anyone have any other hot tips for organising your travel luggage?
