Globetrotting Guest Horse: Flick

The Shoalhaven Ride, Australia

Let’s be honest, we’ve all dreamed of riding a majestic, pitch black Arabian à la ‘The Black Stallion’! And Flick is here to make that dream come true. He’s part of the guest horse herd on The Shoalhaven Ride on Australia’s east coast. That’s die-hard globetrotter Anthony Tietze riding him above, but who knows – maybe one day it’ll be you!

Horse’s Name: Flick (paddock name), Glenellen Park Phenomenal (registered name) AKA Flicky, Beautiful, Handsome Head.

Breed: Arabian

Height: 15.3 hands high

Mare or gelding: Gelding

When and how did you find Flick?
We found Flick in June 2020 just down the road, at the local riding school.

How does he fit in with your herd?
Flick has been accepted beautifully by The Twins (Drover and Shiloh), so we call all three The Triplets!

What do ride guests most love about Flick?
Guests love Flick’s super sweet nature – he is very kind and has a great temperament. They also love that he is a strong and fast horse.

As guides, what do you most love about him?
Flick is a very sensible horse; he is smart and a quick learner. And he certainly pretties up the paddocks!

What are some of Flick’s idiosyncrasies?
Flick lives up to his name – he does the Arabian hair flick just as well as Freddie Bear!

Is there a stand-out story, or anything else we should know about him?
Flick is a movie star! He stars in the recently released Australian film, ‘The Flood‘.
