Feedback on the Rainbow Beach, Bush & Cattle Ride
Life as a GlobetrotterTalk about making a splash! Jennifer Colditz was one of our first globetrotters to embark on a horse riding holiday post-COVID. Without even leaving her home state of Queensland, she found herself in Globetrotting paradise in the form of the Rainbow Beach, Bush & Cattle Ride. And going by her feedback, this ride is back better than ever!
Here’s her entire feedback form, complete and unabridged:
Were you happy with your Globetrotting holiday?
Ecstatic!
Were there any stand-out experiences (good or bad) with the accommodation that you would like to mention?
The accommodation was out of this world. Glamping at its finest! I wasn’t sure what to expect and was surprised to see the massive tents with carpets, chairs, beds, etc. There was no problem sharing with another person as the tents were so spacious and provided with plenty of storage space and shared space. The little details of flower vines up the centre pole, fairy lights and solar lights at the entrance just made everything feel extra special.
Were there any stand-out experiences (good or bad) with the meals that you would like to mention?
Shaun the Chef was brilliant! From the mouthwatering prawns on the first night (everyone licked their plates clean, I’m sure!) to the best ribs I have ever eaten to the fish ‘n’ chips, there was no meal that wasn’t perfection. I enjoyed the cooked breakfast that filled us with energy for the day ahead. A few of us hoped to bring Shaun home with us!
Which horse(s) did you ride? And would you mind elaborating as to why you were happy/unhappy with them?
I rode the beautiful, kind and intelligent Dolly. She made me feel so secure and safe. It was amazing how she made sure to look after her rider. Her manners were impeccable and provided plenty of laughs along the way. I am still in awe at how much she has taught me about my riding and my confidence. Trotting through long grass past her shoulders with no problems blew me away. It will forever be a moment I will cherish. All of Andrew’s horses were amazing – it was very hard to say goodbye.
In respect to your guides, please elaborate as to their level of service, knowledge of the environment and hospitality.
Andrew, Dean and Kelly took hospitality to the next level. Within a heartbeat, we felt like family and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Shaun the Chef always had a smile on his face. Jacqui checked in on us, which made the experience just that much more special. Meeting Andrew’s son and watching him buck bulls was the perfect way to start the ride – it felt so ‘country’.
The knowledge of horses, cattle, mustering, rodeos, and farming that Andrew, Dean and Kelly have between them is expansive. They were always happy to have a good chin wag, and they provided a lot of laughs.
Celebrating my 30th birthday with everyone was so special. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to be around. They made sure I felt comfortable and really went above and beyond to make it the most memorable day. Don’t get me started on the ribs and the cake that night… my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Did you have a favourite day or experience while on your Globetrotting holiday?
The entire trip was amazing. No two days were the same. There was always something new to try and get your hands dirty with. So many special moments that I am never going to stop talking about! Working the cattle (cutting, branding and sorting) was possibly the most exhilarating experience ever. The adrenaline rush of chasing cows and working with other riders was out of this world.
The beach day was so special as well. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face all day! I’m pretty sure I giggled the entire time when we rode bareback into the ocean and caught waves with the horses.
In terms of value-for-money, how would you rate this particular ride?
Excellent.
Are there any other services or inclusions you would like to see added to this itinerary?
It was perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing (unless it was longer!).
We would LOVE a testimonial about your Globetrotting experience to share on our social media channels.
It couldn’t possibly get any better than this! From beach riding to cattle work, the week was filled with plenty of moments that will be remembered for a lifetime. Andrew, Dean and Kelly’s combined knowledge of horses, cattle, riding and mustering is expansive and, coupled with the jaw-dropping scenery, will forever be cherished. The food was mouthwatering at every meal. The accommodation provided all the glamping comforts and then some. The experience bonds everyone together and you make Globetrotting friends for life. I’m already planning upcoming rides with them! I can’t wait to get back out to the property to learn more and ride Andrew’s beautiful horses again.
