Feedback on The Margaret River Ride

The Margaret River Ride, Australia

When someone claims they’ve just experienced their “best holiday ever” you know you must be doing something right! Our hearts swelled with pride when reading globetrotter Tracy Malone’s feedback on her Margaret River Ride in WA, and we just HAD to share her wonderful words with you. Have a read of what she thought of her ride:

Were there any stand-out experiences (good or bad) with the accommodation and meals that you would like to mention?

The food is excellent, the wine is even better and the setting is to die for!

The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the hot water bottles were a lovely touch, as was the cheeky bottle of port and chocolates on the bedside!

I am coeliac and Sally was so accommodating and it was all very easy for me to eat as much as I needed to.

Were you happy with the horse/s that you rode?

Horses were great. I rode Sam first – the second day there I got him on his only bad day of his life! As we were walking out of the property he went to turn around 4 times and go home. He made that long ride not a great one but I also ride him on the beach ride on the last day and he was perfect. I just got him on a bad day and that saddle was terrible! But as they are great hosts I never saw that saddle again and had the perfect fitting saddle for me from that moment on, this definitely did not take away from my experience, I’ve had enough bad days in my life to not hold it against Sam or the saddle. Then I rode Lexi, she was brilliant, responsive but listened if I asked her to slow a little. Loved stepping out and being up the front in all the good conversation. She was a gem.

Did you have a favourite day or experience while on your globetrotting holiday?

It was all amazing but I must say the ride to Sally and Keith’s property was my favourite view of the lot. Their property was stunning and coming out of the bush and seeing it was my favourite memory. Then the lunch by the creek at their property and the slow ride home.

In respect to your guides, were you happy with their level of service, knowledge of the environment and hospitality?

Paul and Fiona were so accommodating to each of our needs. We all had slightly different experiences. I chose to ride each day but only the short rides as I hadn’t had much time in the saddle, so I got to see the Margaret River and buy wonderful gifts for my family, taste some amazing wines and have an all-round Margaret River experience. The other girls were there to ride and ride they did! They didn’t get to see much else of the Margaret River but they loved their trip just as much as I did as they just wanted to do it all on horseback. So we were able to all have a wonderful time and fit to our individual needs. That is the brilliance of this holiday. Then there is the property that Fiona has decorated to perfection and will do anything to make your stay wonderful. Then there is Paul and his horse Greer and his dog Griff, now they truly are the star of the show. Paul tells stories on the ride, Griff entertains the whole way and they keep us smiling and laughing no matter how sore our bums are getting! I now consider Paul and Fiona friends and will definitely be visiting them as well as Keith and Sally on any future trip to the area. You scored so well when you found them for Globetrotting.

In terms of value-for-money, how would you rate this particular ride?

It was expensive but definitely great value for money is that I could not have found Paul and created that experience for myself to the depth it had been created. The time Kate spent there making sure it all met the needs of the riders and gave the Globetrotting experience is the part that is worth every cent. It also means that most of the riders are of a certain life experience and age which means we all have more chance of getting along. And that we did. I have friends for life now that I shared something very special with. They were a huge part of the enjoyment too. Had I tried to organise this myself I could not have put that group together.

Are there any other services or inclusions you would like to see added to this itinerary?

No it is so accommodating to the individual there is no need for inclusions.

Do you have any further comments or suggestions?

Thank you for the work that you have done to make my holiday the best ever!
