Working from Home Globetrotting Style!
In the spotlight, Life as a GlobetrotterFor all of us here at Globetrotting, working from home is nothing new – it’s how we roll. But that’s not to say that coronavirus hasn’t changed a few things! Check out how we’re #workingfromhome and {in some cases literally} riding out COVID-19.
Kate: ‘This is me – working from home! Quite often I have to work with noise cancelling earphones so I can drown out the fighting of my children in the background. Not to mention hide under the desk from my two-year-old who decides to scream ‘MUM’ when I’m on a phone call to a client. It’s not perfect, far from it, but we’re here together, healthy, safe and with lots of space and horses surrounding us.’
Laura: ‘My temporary office space – using a homemade stand up desk out on the deck to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. And then there’s my office view between the hours of 6 and 7am most mornings!’
Rowena – ‘I work from wherever I am in the world, but being home for weeks at a time is something new! I’ve carved out an ‘office’ on the kitchen bench and I’m keeping my riding cravings at bay with help from a saddle-shaped stool, a yoga strap and – newly added – two rusty old stirrups!’
Sarina: ‘My work from home setup needs more seating at the moment. And productive workers! Other than that, I love that I’ve always been able to work flexibly with Globetrotting from the beginning, so there isn’t a huge adjustment right now.’
Marta (can you spot her?!): ‘I made it back to Italy last week after a 50 hour trip, and I’m now in compulsory quarantine in Milan where my brother usually lives. Note the fluffy blanket and the ugg boots – it’s cold here! Spring has just begun. The biggest pro is that it’s a quiet space which helps me concentrate, but it’s also dangerous, as I can very easily move to the bed for naps between work! Also the kitchen is wayyyyy too close for a snack or two!’
So that’s where the GT team is at right now! Very much #togetherathome – staying connected and unified from our personal corners of the world, and looking forward to emerging from these crazy times stronger than ever.
Stay safe, happy and healthy, globetrotters. We can’t wait to send you on more unforgettable horse riding holidays sometime soon. x
